One Million UnSpoken Words

The Artist

Jerrid Jones is a self-taught photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia, originally from Mobile, Alabama. His journey into photography began with the discovery of his father’s old film camera, a moment that sparked a lifelong fascination with capturing images that speak beyond words. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a personal exploration of emotion, light, and the subtle space that exists between subject and story. Over the years, Jerrid has developed a style that blends traditional portraiture with experimentation. He works with a range of techniques, from in camera methods like Intentional Camera Movement to creative post production and layered image compositions.

Jerrid constantly explores the relationship between stillness and motion, precision and spontaneity, often challenging the viewer’s perception of what a photograph can be. He does not just capture a moment. He builds it, allowing space for emotion, memory, and quiet observation to come forward. His work has been published in Popular Photography Magazine and featured in two photography books, The Complete Portrait Manual and Lensbaby Bending Your Perspective.

One Million Unspoken Words was the culmination of this ongoing process. The project brought together hundreds of portraits, each one layered with emotion and intention. Through light, silence, and subtle transformation, every image became more than a likeness. It became a conversation, an invitation to feel what cannot always be said.
